TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Golkar Party chairman Airlangga Hartarto said a total of 75 percent of his party’s voters strongly support Jokowi - Ma’ruf Amin pair in the presidential election next year. Airlangga did not deny that constant dissemination to the public was required for the sake of the winning of the candidate number 01 because the party previously supported Prabowo Subianto in the 2014 election.

“We have established dissemination programs since the beginning legally. Golkar is also active on social media. We have also displayed banners of Golkar and Jokowi in many cities,” said Airlangga after attending the plenary meeting of election campaign team (Bapilu) in Golkar DPP building in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 18.

Airlangga claimed the number of voters from Golkar party who supporting Jokowi - Ma’ruf increased. He expected the figure could be maximized for the remaining four months of the campaign period.

“We hope for a mutual benefit, Golkar chooses Pak President, voters of Pak President choose Golkar,” said Airlangga, adding that the party would continue to hold consolidations and evaluations in light of the campaign progress in regions ahead of the Presidential Election in April 2019.

According to Airlangga, the party faced difficulties to win Jokowi - Ma'ruf pair and legislative chairs next year considering the presidential and legislative election would be held simultaneously. “But, we have four months from now to carry out campaign acts,” he noted.
